GENERAL CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

 

1  Entries and enquiries regarding events as listed in diary should be made to the HIWCBA Competitions Secretary :- Lillian Craigen Tel: 02380 254276.  You may also use the button “Enter a Sunday Competition” 4th down on the left of this dialogue.

 

2  Any pair or team which does not give at least TWO days notice of cancellation of entry will be charged half the entry fee.

 

3  Apart from the Ivan Chidwick Charity Cup , the IBM Cup, Kidney Research Simultaneous Pairs and 'No Fear' competitions, which are also open to non-members, all the competitors must be paid-up members of HIWCBA. Open Congress events are open to all members of the EBU.

 

4  All events start at 2pm except where stated and for the Candlestick Trophy and the Pottage Cup Final which both start at 1.00 pm. The Farley Trophy Pairs competition starts at 1.30 pm.

 

5  In the FINALE RANKED PAIRS EVENT the categories are:

a)  Senior Rank - Graham Cup Regional Masters and above;

b)  Junior Rank - Philbrick Trophy Masters and below;

c)  Intermediate - Mark Carr Trophy Between Senior & Junior qualification Pairs of mixed rank play in the HIGHER ranked category.

 

6  POTTAGE CUP

This is the County's major pairs Green Point competition also qualifying for the National Corwen Trophy. The Committee will select clubs who will hold heats. Club secretaries wishing to run a heat or pairs wishing to know the heat venues, please contact Madeline Lawson on 01189 812036.  or use the e-mail facility on the contacts  page 7th button down on the left of this dialogue.  Only HIWCBA PRIME members may qualify for the semi-final and competitors may only play in ONE heat.

 

7  BAYER NO FEAR PAIRS

All players must be below the rank of Regional Master. This event is open to non-EBU players.

 

8  CHIDWICK CUP & IBM CUP

Any affiliated club may hold heats of the Ivan Chidwick Charity Cup (Duplicated Pairs) and IBM Cup (Simultaneous Pairs) events, both of which are open to non-EBU members.

 

9 EVENTS OPEN TO NON EBU MEMBERS and NEWCOMERS EVENTS

Three Sunday events are open to non EBU members:

a. The Bayer No Fear Pairs 6th April;

b. Newcomers pairs 7th October;

c. Newcomers pairs 24th February.
